New York Crash Landing
This weekend, the previously high flying Jets, dropped a huge game as the Patriots swept them in the season series, in retaliation to their emotional AFC Divisional Round loss to New York. This loss set them back, as now the Patriots not only have complete control of the division, but have more divisional wins and a better head-to-head record. The Jets played awful on Sunday, once again letting the immortal Tom Brady march down their field numerous times. The problem with the Jets is their inconsistency. Sunday is a perfect example. When was the last time that a defense recorded a safety on a future Hall of Fame QB, and give up 36 points? The Jets have too many of these inconsistencies to be a Super Bowl caliber team. If they were to work these out, they might have a chance if it is not to late. Don't even get me started on Tebow leading the Broncos on a victorious stampede. The Jets have been so awful the past two games, that if it wasn't for gargantuan players taking up the field, it wouldn't be apparent if this was a pee wee team or a professional organization. The problem on Thursday was the Jets and all of New York assumed the win and took it for granted. The only touchdown by the Jets was off a blundering fumble, recovered by none other than Matt Slauson, a lineman. Rex will be gone with the wind soon, because he is promising what he can't deliver. If the sloppy play of the other night continues, the Jets will never be a Super Bowl worthy team, they stink. They have to get back on track, if it is not to late. Maybe the Jets should find a more spiritual connection, look how it is working out for Timmy T. Also, how do you lose to someone on the ground?
