October 2003: in a bloody and brutal game at Fenway between the Yankees and the Red Sox Pedro Martinez and Don Zimmer brought upon a curse to the Yankees. Even though they reached the World Series that year and had reached it six times in the past ten years it was possible for them to be hexed. The only way they could break it to face Pedro in the World Series and beat him.
October 29, 2009: Well here was their first chance to break the curse and they beat Pedro and the Phillies.
November 4, 2009: Now the Yankees up three games to two and facing nobody but Pedro. Pedro retraced back his Mets and Expo roots and became a choke artist and failure. Pedro blew it he did it as a Met and now as a Not so Phigtin' Phil.
