An Imperfect Season

Well they made it 14 perfect weeks than fell to the Cowboys the Saints were eraced from perfection. Then on Sunday New Orleans hosting Tampa Bay Drew Brees leads them out of the first half with a commanding 17-0 lead but whatever Tampa coach Raheem Morris said during halftime worked because the Bucs looked like a championship caliber team not only on offense scoring 10 points but on special teams with the punt return for a touchdown, and the defense shutting out the heavenly Saints. Then, late in the fourth quarter young kicker Garret Hartley comes in and misses the field goal. Then on first drive of overtime Josh Freeman leads the Bucs right down the field right into field goal range and Connor Barth comes in and hits it through the uprights of the goalposts. The Saints now have lost two in a row. Watching in awe the Colts made a vow not to lose and remain perfect. The Jets also made a vow that they would win to get into the playoffs. First half was nothing special except for Joe Addai's touchdown and Adam Vinateri's blocked extra point. Second half was electrifying from the word go Brad Smith caught the ball 6 yards deep in the endzone and returned it for a 106 yard touchdown run. The longest one in Jets history and the second longest in NFL history. Then, late in the third quarter Jim Caldwell pulls most of the starters to rest them they were up 15-10. The Purdue rookie,Curtis Painter, comes in first he fumbles and the Jets return it for a touchdown the 2 point conversion is successful. Now up 18-15 the Jets never look back another touchdown with a 2 point conversion and a field goal. The unstoppable were stopped.
