It seems that every other day the Texas Rangers are making a highlight reel, my newsfeed, or drawing popluarity just from playing hard with a strong group of players. The way the boys from Arlington have been one of the year's most consistently buzzing topics in the sports world is unlike that of the Mets. The New York Mets have made the front pages for all the wrong reasons in the past year such as K- Rod sucker punching his father in law, Jeff Francoeur requesting a trade, firing both skipper Jerry Manuel and GM Omar Minaya, ownership being involved in Ponzi schemes and pondering the thought of selling a fraction of the team, as well as who could forget what the Mets have infamous for the past few years; injuries, injuries, injuries, and injuries. Despite all this talk of overcoming adversity to win games it just doesn't make sense to me, sooner or later the Mets will run out of players to take the injured starters' places. The Mets already had the whole AAA Buffalo Bison Team playing but now it appears that all of the Bisons have gotten hurt so most of the AA team is getting their chance. Players like Justin Turner, Lucas Duda, Dillon Gee, Daniel Murphy, and Reuben Tejada have gotten that once in a life opportunity to make it big in the bigs. If the Mets will ever learn how to stay healthy, they will be a seriously competitive club in the next few years.
