One Small Step, One GIANT Leap for Eli

If you're Eli Manning, you're probably under a lot of pressure. Luckily, you're not Eli. You're probably a contradicting doubter of The Book of Eli. The Giants barely made the playoffs as a mid-season collapse almost killed them, but somehow the Cowboys had an end of season collapse. And in the long run, end of season collapses are always worse than in mid-season, just ask the 2007 and 2008 Mets. It seems that the Cowboys never could finish anything off. From the countless 4th quarter losses, to only having to win one more game and losing them. But do the Giants really deserve to be playing now? They only made it in because the favorite  fell apart and they only really played well in the last two games. Being a playoff team requires a season of success and I'm not sure that they were that good in their first 14 games. If the Jet game had been played in November, maybe Gang Green would be in and the Giants would be without a coach. Or say that the Giants opened the season up against Dallas, odds are, that Tony Romo would be studying a gameplan to beat Atlanta. You never know. Scheduling can affect seasons, even if you're playing the same teams. The Giants try to act like the Yankees of football, but they're not. The only thing they have in common with the Bombers is that they are only in the headlines for being really good, or really bad. There is no happy medium. Eli may be having a career year, but it is all because he throws all game and  a useless running attack. When you look at the top 3 quarterbacks and their outrageous stats, you seem dumbfounded. Don't be. Aaron Rodgers has thrown 45 touchdowns, because of no running game so he takes constant shots to the end zone. Tom Brady wouldn't have thrown for 5,235 yards if he had a consistently strong back. Drew Brees would not have completed 468 passes if Reggie Bush hadn't swam across the Gulf to be a Dolphin. The same goes for Eli. By winning today, he can prove all naysayers wrong, including myself. But to win, he has to beat a complete football team in the Atlanta Falcons.
