I have compromised a collection of what is going on in the best time of the year for sports. I apologize for my recent absence from documenting life's true beauty- sports.
Rajon Rondo, to me, is the coolest guy in the NBA. Although Chris Bosh's twitter bio is, "...the coolest dude alive," the way Rondo plays is electrifying and it gives him a certain demeanor that strikes intimidation into opponents. His athleticism is incomparable, but Rondo is often overlooked by media because of the Big 3 in Boston. Rajon Rondo will be a valuable asset to the Celtic's push to the Finals. Boston is a team with so much talent, the only problem is that 3 of their most prized players are nearing the end of their careers with injury plagued bodies. Rondo is the motor that keeps the Celtics moving, and without him, Boston would fall apart against the mighty Heat. Miami has an underrated Big 3 member, Chris Bosh, seems to be out for the series, so the Heat will be short a star. I would say that the Celtics are in a position to win it all, but the 2 stars on the court are Lebron James and Dwayne Wade. When these 2 are hot, even John Wooden wouldn't be able to configure a plausible gameplan to combat the skills of King James and D-Wade. Between the fragile Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, at least one of them is destined to miss multiple games, so it will be up to Rondo to fill in for them, step up, be the leader. Rondo is the point guard of the future and face of the franchise as Garnett, Pierce, and Allen will all soon retire, so it is in his best interest to play his heart out. Rondo has excelled in the playoffs, so being clutch isn't an issue, it is just a matter of will he do it, because, he can do it.
College softball is probably the best college sport out there. While men's basketball and football attract the most fans, I find college softball to be the most interesting and enjoyable sport. On Saturday afternoon, out of boredom, I turned on the NCAA Softball Tournament Qualifiers, and since than my eyes have been glued to the television screen watching with anticipation who will go the Oklahoma City. I have tried watching college baseball, but it is simply dull. I enjoy watching the energy that fills the field and dugouts. I enjoy listening to the fresh and rejuvenated comments of the announcers. But most of all, I enjoy the way that the game is played, between unorthodox rules, relaxed attitude, and the willingness to work hard to win. In baseball, most of the time guys are more worried on how they do as an individual, but these girls just want to succeed as a team. That is the beauty of the sport, the players all play with the hustle of Pete Rose, heart of Gary Carter, and the unique personas of Yogi Berra. After getting hooked on college softball, I would rather coach softball than baseball, and this is coming from someone who wanted to manage an MLB team. Girls are much more coachable than boys, as they are open to criticism. I guess softball and baseball are basically the same idea, but what makes softball much, much more enjoyable, is simply the girls and their love of the game.
I would mention something about hockey, but as the experts say, "...write about what you know." I'd be lying if I ranted about the Stanley Cup. But i flipped a coin, Kings in 6.
