Rodgers In The Seat For A Possible Repeat
The past few reigning champs have sputtered in their title defending seasons. Not the Packs, they have started out 6-0 and could possibly be on their way to another Lombardi Trophy. Aaron Rodgers has picked up from where he left off last year, and has cost a lot of fantasy owners (including myself) who thought as a reigning champion, he wouldn't live up to expectations. Rodgers, yet again, has proved the nay-sayers wrong by still posting All-Pro statistics. This morning on Boomer and Carton, they brought up an interesting record held by Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is the only quarterback since the Super Bowl Era began to have at least a 100 QB rating in each of his first six games. Although it is a silly stat, this is pretty impressive that Rodgers has outperformed legends like Joe Namath, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady. If Rodgers continues his stellar performance this year and years to come in his career, he will go down with these larger than life QBs. Say whatever you want about how it's still early, and how there is still a lot of football to be played, but Aaron Rodgers is on fire and is working on finding his ring-finger another friend this year. The biggest test to see if Aaron Rodgers is better than Brett Favre. Can he, unlike Favre, repeat? Favre went two straight years but only once. If Rodgers can console Wisconsin hearts after being bounced by the rival Cardinals last night by winning in Indy this February, he will be deemed as Aaron, King of the Cheeseheads. Favre will be merely looked upon to this generation as some guy in the history books who enjoyed getting so much attention and couldn't stay retired. My prediction for the NFC Title Game: Detroit @ Green Bay, with Green Bay winning 34-31 with Rodgers throwing three 4th quarter touchdowns to come from behind and make Detroit even hungrier for a championship played outside.
